Domaine du Tariquet Premières Grives (IGP Côtes de Gascogne)

The IGP Côtes de Gascogne is located in southwestern France with a Pyrenean and Landes Forest as  climatic influences. The Gascon terroir has 13 000 Ha and is devoted to white wines from Gros Manseng, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Chardonnay or Sauvignon. There are also red wines made from oceanic grape varieties.

Domaine Tariquet is a family business (Grassa) with an ancient origin but it will not be until the 80's that they will produce white and rosé wine. They are committed to the environment when it comes to working their vineyard, which is located in the heart of wine-growing Gascony. This is a off-dry 1oo% Gros Manseng.

2022: Greenish-yellow color that shows evident youth (uncorked one year after harvest). On the nose a beautiful expression of yellow flower, clamentine, herbs and Gascony pollen. On the palate, a moelleuse entry that eclipses the freshness. Delicious aromas of white fruit and fresh flowers on the palate. Long finish that leaves a correct white wine.

2013: A lemon yellow color, clear and transparent. A fruity, floral and aromatic nose always in Gros Manseng. Delicious moelleux entry (11% vol.) which will bind with a good freshness which brings it tension. Development with a round palate evoking ripe fruits. Note therefore the balance between acidity and sweetness. Medium-long finish and a tickle at the end of the throat to end a very nice wine.

One of the many gifts I received during my wine stage in Bommes (Sauternes), this time from one of the friends I made there and who we were able to taste in her own home. Thank you, Martine. Good, a wine that should reach around 10º/11º C with spicy dishes, appetizers and starters. A value for money of between 7 and 8 euros in most supermarkets in Toulouse and Gascony.
