Terras do Pó branco 2018 (VR Península de Setúbal)

'Ermelinda Freitas' is one of the most consecrated projects of the Portuguese viticultural panorama. This family saga leaded for 4 women generations has garnered numerous awards until be in the top 5 of Portugal's best wineries. Setúbal Peninsula is the place where its 1087 acres are settled on sandy soils. The 'Terras do Pó' brand symbolizes for the family the transition from bulk wines to bottled wines. In the case of its 2018 vintage, the chosen castes are Fernão Pires 85% - 15% Arinto.

A golden yellow colour in glass with dense tear anouncing density. A nose with herbal and elegant citrus hints (Arinto impress). Then it add the sage or the orange touchs. In mouth a round and gourmand entrance. Development mixing citrus with white bone fruit... some tropical and apple echoes coming after. It does not lose freshness and is the roundness that predominate in the mouthfeel. A gourmand mouth development with a certain body even being the Fernão Pires impress.

A Vinho Regional (VR) that I could taste in one of the barwines that E.F owns in the city of Lisbon. A very well balanced white that accepts the good fish in the little Portuguese restaurants or with the typical cold or hot petiscos. A service Tª of 11º C for enjoy during the first year is recommended. A quality-price rapport of around 4 euros / $ 4'50 that in my opinion is right (not so in the wine shop where the glamour supplement triggers the price of half a glass).
