Lúcia
Freitas is one of the Dão
wine region's scene names. This winemaker born in Viseu city soon
began in the wine world thanks to her grandfather, a small local
producer. In Dão, winemakers know well that the Encruzado
variety brings voluptuousness, the Bical
variety puts the acidity and that the Malvasía
variety offers a whole complex aromatic palette. Lucia knows it too
and demonstrates it code of young white.
Visually
a good bright with dense and thick tears. A medium intensity nose but
with a great complexity. Tropical and butter hints a priori. Then
some citrus or herbal notes comes. And finally pear and apple close
the party. A lot of pear hints. Entrance in mouth of slight
roundness. A gourmand development with a
good balance between roundness and freshness.
Elegant mouth-aromas of mountain grass next to tropical fruit and
citrus peel touchs. Warm, sweet and long finish with delicious orange
echoes.
A
Dão blend valued at 4'85
euros / $ 5.43
which in my opinion is a just price. I discovered this reference in
one of the Baixa-Chiado bars of Lisbon. A great city to discover at
all levels especially in the gastronomic. For match this wine, for
example, look for a Grilled Sea Bream with roast pepper or a
Portuguese Grilled Salted Cod Fish (Bacalhau
a Lagareiro). 12º C Tª service is what
Lucia and I recommend.
