Meia Encosta branco (DOC Dão): the fun little wine to enjoy the richness of Portuguese petiscos

Wines Borges and José María Machado are responsibles of this reference. It is a coupage of Malvasia Fina (mainly), Encruzado, Bical and Fernão Pires. All these grapes come from a poor granitic soils where the Atlantic winds are stopped by the mountains of Buçaco, Estrela, Caramulo, Nave and Montemuro. This is Dão wine region.

2015 vintage: Golden yellow colour without defects. Not very perfumed nose but with exquisite aromas of apple, meadow, flint or white flowers like orange blossom. Lighter, fruity and mineral mouth, though there are hints of citrus. Acidity that is accentuated every drink but always controlled. Warm finish where appear the 13'5% but with a short persistence.

Good value for money in E. Leclerc supermarkets (3'28 €). It will make a good pairing with all kinds of fish, seafood and fresh cheeses. White Dão wine I've uncorked to celebrate the more than 1o ooo visits this blog has received last month. Thanks and good wine for everyone !
