Visan is a village located
in the Gard region of south-central France. The village is situated
along the right side of the Rhône River, in an area known thanks their
red wines. It is surrounded by farms, olive groves and Grenache
vineyards. Visan is known too for its 16th century castle
and the Château des Comtes, which is a good example of medieval
architecture. From Visan we find this Rhône blending vinified by
Great Serres winery (Châteauneuf-du-Pape) without sulfites added.
A Garnacha - Syrah - Mourvèdre of very good extraction, with a young disc (uncorked a year after its harvest). Aromatically intense and perfumed, which brings a fruit at its point of maturity with a complex mineral and moss background. In the mouth, a round entrance that confesses residual sugars. A voluminous development always in relation to the fruit. Development where the white spice puts intensity. The freshness of the vintage is present. A long and warm finish (15% vol. that seems thirteen). Very well made, it is appreciated that there are no sulphites.
Other atractions in Visan include a local chapel, several heritage sites, and charming views of the Rhône river. The local wineries awaits you for taste Grenache and Muscat wines, popular in a regional level. This is valued between 5 and 10 euros, nearer from five than ten. The traditional Provençal cuisine is the best for this amazing wine, for example a provençal-style braised lamb shoulder, perfect for a deep travel with friends in the Valley.
