Château des Moriers 2018 (AOC Moulin-à-vent)

Windmill AOC is one of the ten crus in Beaujolais wine region. Only two villages, making ensemble 1630 acres of vineyard, can produce the delicious Gamay that will become Moulin-à-vent AOC. Justement Fleurie is one of that villages where Moriers winery is based for produce exciting red granitic wines like this.

Viasually a timid opacity typical of Beaujolais. Nose that transports you to nature (echoes of undergrowth, wild black fruit). Entry of good freshness allied with a timid roundness. Vibrant and energetic. It is not marked by its ten-month aging in barrels, which is enough to control the divine matter of this Gamay. Intense development (13.5% vol.) and spicy, that spice that adds volume to the end and that we love.

The good treatment of the vineyard and its fruit is the cornerstone of this project that seeks purity and minimal intervention. All this has a price, and in the case of this Gamay it is around $32. As paiting we could choose a Layered Tofu with market vegetables. Why a not a Vosge's style vegetarian warm sandwich, ratatouille, marinated sweet peppers, pesto, mushrooms arugula salad?
