J. Denuzière blanc 2019 (AOC Saint-Joseph)

Caroline Moro is the actual winemaker of Denuzière winery in northern Rhône Valley. She is a highly respected winemaker with years of experience in making premium wines from Chàteauneuf-du-Pape, Bordeaux and Atlantique. Mrs. Moro is known for producing full-bodied red wine from Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah, as well as elegant and aromatic white wines from Marsanne as this Saint-Joseph.

Flawless straw yellow color after being uncorked in 2021. Aromatically we find notes of ripe citrus fruits in the first nose. Later, mineral, floral and fine spices hints are added. Intense and complex. In the mouth its entry is dry. The broad development of the Marsanne highlights the notes of its aging that provide of barley and cereal hints on a background of white stone and citrus fruits. Great balance.

The Khalkhal family and Mrs Moro value this white at 21 euros, which is common when we talk about wines from the Rhône north. I would like to serve it at 12ºC so that its nuances are not overshadowed by the temperature. The volume of this white allows it to be paired with multiple preparations, of course with appetizers and grilled fish, but white meat like turkey and chicken stewed or grilled will delight the whole family.
