Mas d'Agalis cuvée Yo no puedo más 2020 (Vin de France)

Languedoc-Roussillon is a wine region with a strong identity. Between mountain and sea, there are varied vineyards and many areas to visit on great natural sites such as 'Le Salagou'. There (Nébian village), Lionel Maurel awaits you, who said "Yo no puedo más / I can't anymore" when he lost part of his harvest devaluing his future wine on the "Vin de France" label. Even so, the result is surprising and exciting: a Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault with aging but looking for fruit. And he finds her.

In view a medium opacity with meniscus totally in youth even uncorking two years after harvest. Nose turned to the small wild berries (cassis, blackberry, raspberry, strawberry...), the aromatic always around the fruit. Entrance of timid roundness. Vibrant, juicy development, with a beautiful freshness and very pleasant to taste (12.5% vol). Half structure welcomed. The mouth-aromas are always related to fruit, this vintage with a fun spicy touch.

Lionel prices this cuvée at 15 euros, a great opportunity to get to know his work if you have never tried anything of his. One of the most promising vignerons in Languedoc that you should not forget. As first match I'd propose an Occitanian chicken breast served with melted brie cheese and sage sauce. As a second pairing the typical Leg of lamb cooked at low temperature; semolina peas turnip carrot zucchini and shredded lamb; fried carrot; lamb jus.
