Albert Morot 2017 (AOC Pommard): the purity of the Côte de Beaune with prestige and savor

Pommard is a commune with an unique mix of tradition and harmony, surrounded by vineyards that only nature could create. The slowness of time seems to be a characteristic of Pommard village, where things seem to last forever, and the rhythm of life is as smooth as the black Pinot they grow. It is a place that invites you to stop and enjoy a little glass of Albert Morot, a hidden gem in the heart of Beaune's Côte.

We have uncorked six years after the harvest and have found a color of medium-low opacity and a brick-colored edge. On the nose a good load of wild forest fruit, which is complemented by floral and animal notes. Entry with a petite rondeur. Wide development (13% vol.), delicate and with the finesse of Pinot Noir. We find a beautiful energy from the the berry fruit hints. Very pleasant and feminine mouthfeel, without forgetting the freshness. Long finish, with that black Pinot brand that fills the palate with crunchy fruit.

The fourteen months of aging in new oak barrels have been faded by the passage of time and that must be celebrated. Thank you Mr Choppin for this little piece of Pommard bottled and taken from his 8 wonderful hectares. Its price, around 45 euros, delivers what it promises: fruit. You will enjoy it at 13º C with a generous piece of Maroilles or Époisses cheese on a slice of toasted village bread. Plaisir des dieux!
