Domaine Saparale rouge Casteddu 2021 (AOC Corse Sartène): 5 varieties to exhibit the Corsican's gastronomic side

The Saparale winery's Casteddu (Casttle) range, created in 2001, seeks to offer the complexity and gastronomic vocation of its wines. As for his red, we are talking about a blend of five varieties to ensure that complexity and the Corse Sartène label, making it clear that this red will propose body and solidity. The cepages chosen are the Sangiovese adapted to Corsica (Niellucio), together with Sciaccarellu, Carcaghjolu, Minustellu and Aleatico.

Visually we see a deep color, the result of its 30 days of maceration. On the nose we find that promised complexity and richness, which mixes primary notes of berry fruit with others developed during its twelve months of aging in foudre and barrel. Round attack on the palate even in the case of a cold vintage. Development of a good structure and of course that cool granite. Elegance and finesse. Ripe fruit is expressed together with a tannin that still accepts cellaring.

This vintage is the first that Saparale winery has introduced the Aleatico variety (red Muscat), which, like all Muscat variants, offers a plus of aromatic force. All that quality, all that work, is valued at only € 16. The pairing is the most desired by lovers of Mediterranean cuisine. Taste some Corsica lamb skewers pairing with white wine from Domaine Fiumicicoli and lemon.
