Château Mac Carthy 2019 (AOC Saint-Estèphe): the authenticity of the Château Haut-Marbuzet's 2nd wine

Saint-Estèphe is famous for its stunning red wines based on Carmenet group of grape varieties. It is one of the many wine names from the Left Bank of Bordeaux, where some of the most sought-after wines in the France are produced. Saint-Estèphe is characterized by having 3212 acres dedicated almost exclusively to red wine. In addition to that, its strategic location next to the Garonne River helps the vineyards receive abundant sun, which contributes to the optimale ripening of the grapes and the quality of the wines. That is the key to the quality of the Mc Carthy's wines.

Uncorked four years after its harvest, it shows a color of medium opacity but with colored tears. There are logical signs of delicious evolution. The complexity thanks to the passage of years gives a bouquet of cedar wood, aging under oak (18 months in new barrels) and jammed forest fruits on an empyreumatic background. In the mouth: dry entry, immediately bringing the good Médoc freshness. Wide, racé and very expressive development. A great balance between finesse and character as in the authentic Saint-Estèphe. Afterwards, a spicy trail arrives that converges with a finish with notes of French meatshop... Oh là là!

The Duboscq family, who manages this 70-hectare Château, values this great reference at 36 euros, which in our opinion is recommendable. This Mac Carthy (second wine from Château Hau-Marbuzet) has a great aging capacity and will continue to mature to provide new sensations on the day of corkage. Don't forget to decant. A wine that older people love, first of all because of the tradition and history of the Bordeaux region, part of European gourmet culture. And on the other hand thanks to the status it offers, a symbol of success and accumulated wealth. And if not, deny me.
