Cricova brut roz (Moldova): a toast with Pinot Noir for peace between brother peoples

The Codru wine region is characterized by a diverse landscape, featuring a network of valleys, ravines, cliffs, ridges and hills, intersected by streams and small tributaries. This diversity is reflected in the region's topography, with slopes of varying inclinations, including gentle slopes of 1º - 3º and moderate slopes of 3º - 5º. The region is also home to two major cross-border rivers, Prut and Nistru, as well as inland rivers such as Răut, Ichel, Bâc, Botna and Ciornaia, along with their tributaries. With that potential, how can we not make great sparkling wines?

Orangish color and salmon reflections, with that impetuous torrent of bubbles, like a T-64. A nose of moderate intensity that mixes citrus and floral touches. In palate, an effervescent and brut entry, which adds volume. Feminine, creamy (12.5% vol.) and brioché development. The freshness is correct, always sponsored by the cold-loving Pinot Noir variety. Mouth-aromas passing through white stone fruit, brioche notes on a citrus fruit background that persists until the end.

Eastern Europe is in fashion, and not only for being the moral and spiritual beacon of the continent, but for offering good value for money wines like this one, which in the West costs around 10 euros. In this same blog it was written about another méthode traditionnelle from Cricova winery, a brut this time white with French varieties but with a part of the Caucasian Rkatisteli. In short, two celebratory wines to toast peace and common sense.
