Domaine Fiumicicoli blanc Tradition 2022 (AOC Corse Sartène): the traditional white that makes Mr. Andreani proud

Domaine Fiumicicoli has its third family generation producing organic wines in the southwest of Corsica island (Sartène sub-region). Its 197 acres / 80 hectares of basically granite soils are the pride of Mr. Andreani, the founder of this very interesting winery between sea and mountain. To this passionate family committed to nature, we toast with their 1oo% Vermentino cuvée (aka Malvoisie of Corse).

Visually flawless straw yellow, with that extra shine that wines from the Sartène sub-area give. On the nose, a beautiful minerality that would take years to express itself in other Vermentino whites. Tangerine and sage hints qualifying this perfume. On the palate a dry entry. The development highlights the tension and freshness without forgetting the saline side. Herbal notes and notes of freshly cut citrus. A finish that makes you salivate, ideal for aperitifs in front of the sea.

A white to awaken the palate that affirms that French mineral wines are not only found in the Loire Valley. A Malvoisie of Corse profile that breaks with the stereotypes created in Provence, where few producers dare to work it in mono-cepage, giving more opulent results. Reference valued at 19 euros. As a pairing, Corsican seafood is the most suitable: white fish skewers (sole or gilthead bream) marinated in herbs such as oregano, thyme, basil with oil and vinegar. Deliciouscoli!
