Domaine Sant Armettu rosé Myrtus 2022 (IGP Île de Beauté): It's time for Corsican rosé facing the sea

The Corse du Sud region is truly stunning. It is impossible not to feel hypnotized by its charm and its options. The white sand beaches and crystalline beaches of gulf of Propriano stand out. The medieval city of Bonifacio is worth a whole day to enjoy. The steep mountains, overlooking Sartène and Porto-Vecchio leave incredible views. And its fields of almond trees and vineyards surround charming flat wineries such as Seroin family (4th generation): Domaine Sant Armettu. Their 1oo% Sciacarellu organic rosé doesn't taste like this:

A pink color with vermilion tones that is the result of the bleeding technique, capable of extracting extra color in a variety that lacks polyphenols. In this case, 48 hours of maceration for a good extraction of aromes and color. On the nose, small red fruits from bushes such as strawberries predominate, on a floral background that adds complexity. Entrance of timid roundness. Female development, very pleasant. The granite freshness always there. Mouth-aromas for strawberry caramel, juicy red berry fruits notes. At all times very pleasant, since it does not seem to have 14.5% vol.

Sant Armettu winery only introduces the minimum amount of sulfur in bottling, respecting the minimum doses that allow this wine to be classified as a result of organic viticulture. The indigenous yeasts have made it possible to highlight the varietal qualities of Sciaccarellu for rosé wine. Its price around 15 € is in line with the quality of the winery, one of the most prestigious in Corse du Sud. As a pairing, the island's charcuterie on a slice of village bread would be our first match. Also, some signature tapas among friends: it's the Corsican experience!
